Congrats the Hard Way

Liu Xiang of China set a world record in the 110-meter hurdles on Tuesday, breaking the record he shared with Britain’s Colin Jackson.

I had to eat some stir-fried crow today, delivered by my Chinese colleagues, because I think that Liu Xiang’s gold medal in Athens was a fluke and for my insistence that he will not win gold in Beijing 2008. I guess the Gods wanted to put me in my place. (But I’ll stick to my guns…mark my words…Liu Xiang will not win another gold in 2008!) Still, I’ve got to give it up for him on the WR.
