Nice follow up to my last post, from China Daily:

The CPC has disciplined two local leaders of central China's Henan Province for illegally authorizing the occupation and use of land, according to information from the executive meeting of the State Council on Wednesday. [The rest is here.]

These guys were misappropriating farmland, told to stop, and did it anyway, according to the story. There is no issue more politically charged right now as far as the public is concerned than the confiscation of farmland. If Beijing is successful in cracking down on this activity, it will go a long way towards recapturing a lot of goodwill from the countryside.
