Holiday Notes

I am in the middle of the National Day holiday (no, despite the name, this is a week-long deal). So far, I've only been to the office once - today - so that's not so bad.

Yesterday, my wife and I went to the CAA event, held at Chaoyang Park. What is "CAA" you ask? None other than the Cat Aficionado's Association. No, I am not kidding. There are even photos, although I have not downloaded them yet - maybe tomorrow.

The whole thing was a fairly tame event, although it is amazing that they could even hold such a thing. The pet craze is in full bloom here, and the amount of disposable income available to spend on pets is quite telling. Of course, I did not go there to make economic pronouncements. I am a cat owner and my wife enjoyed it.

Despite the fact that we have two cats already, the Bengal breed (in Chinese, Meng Jia La) caught our attention - looks like a mini Cheetah, which is pretty cool. Just say no. Two cats are enough, right?
