In Beijing right now for two conferences tomorrow. One is the Red Herring Wireless 2007 conference, which we're sponsoring at ChinaTechNews.com, and the second is the International Labor Organization's Project Kick-off Meeting for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Chinese Textile Industry.

According to their site, "Red Herring Wireless 2007 will bring together leaders, innovators, and up-and-comers from around the world for a dynamic multi-day forum, May 28-30, at The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, in the heart of China's vibrant metropolis."

I am not a fan of the wireless value-added business model in China–it's the blind leading the blind into all sorts of ways to lose money. However this conference will also focus on bigger wireless issues surrounding the telecoms and how companies like Nokia and Motorola are rolling out services.

For the ILO conference, we are involved because our monthly publication China CSR, covers the textile trade in China. Sun Ruizhe, vice president of the China National Textile & Apparel Council and director-general of the CSR office at the China National Textile & Apparel Council (CNTAC) will be delivering a talk along with people from UNIDO and the Swiss Embassy.
