Getting Internet Access In Europe

June 26, 2007|

So I am going to Europe in a few weeks. I will be in Hamburg, Bern, and Vienna for about a week, with hopefully time to get down to Venice. I have emailed a few people I know with ties to the Olde Country, asking them if they have clues as to how I can get online there. I checked with the hotels I'm staying at, and they all have connections (one is charging a ridiculously high price of EUR25 per day), but I want to know if I can buy a card to use WiFi around the towns. Or maybe I can buy a GPRS or CDMA SIM cards to pop into my laptop modems?

Nobody, so far, has returned with decent information. Anybody know a good online resource that has info about European countries and what travelers need to do to get online?

Update: Stop the presses. RR just sent me this link on BoingBoing that talks about worldwide Wifi! Thanks Richard!
