Jiang Hang pledged himself to put more effort to improve English study in 2008, in his annual policy address 2008 Work Report on February 5.
“I must lose no time in training for the reading and writing skills, including reading English classics as much as possible, as well as writing as least 1,000 words per week,” He said, “I will  focus on enhancing listening and speaking skills, which has been weak for a long time.”
When reviewing the work of the past year, Jiang said the progress made over the past year was also attributed to the help from other people. Therefore, he said, “I have to express my heartfelt thanks to those who care about and support my work, and wish you a happy Chinese New Year.”
Jiang also stressed that he would promote culture development and uphold the scientific values, which provide an important intellectual support for his progress.
On self-cultivation, he said he must keep a peaceful mind and improve the style of work.
At the end of the report, he underscored that he should be mindful of potential dangers, saying that “I　must make ceaseless efforts to achieve the victories and work hard for my happy life”
