During a three-day session, the central committee of the ruling communist party discussed the restructuring of government and candidates for the state leaders, including the president, parliamentary chairman and premier.
As foreign media predicts, the current leaders Hu, Wu, Wen and Jia would continue in office. Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang, two rising political star were assumed to serve as vice-president and vice-premier respectively, at the National People’s Congress next month.

Feb. 26 The Vatican China’s foreign ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao admitted that there had been contact between China and the Vatican and China was willing to continue constructive dialogue with the Vatican. He also reiterated that the Vatican must sever its so-called “diplomatic relations” with Taiwan and should not interfere in China’s internal affairs, including interference under the name of religion.
