Why I've been scarce: Zachary Lee Moss

March 15, 2008|

Born last Sunday, March 9th, 12:12AM in Beijing. Mom's eyes, hair and skin. Dad's nose and ears (oh well). Also known as Li Weizhi (李苇志) in accordance with the best numerological tradition, which was very precise about the total number of strokes that should feature in the Chinese name. (Technically it was calculated on the traditional character version, 李葦志.)

Photo above is age nine hours. The red stripe on his nose is not inherited from me, but is a scratch that was self-inflicted before we could trim his little fingernails. Don't be fooled by the placid expression in the photo. This kid is a typhoon.

Posting will probably be irregular for the next few weeks.
