Acknowledging a recent protest in the Muslim, northwestern province of Xinjiang, the Chinese government has announced that Islamic separatist groups are seeking to foment unrest there.

First Tibet, then Sichuan and Gansu and now Xinjiang. Some of the incidents are related some not but the more I read about them the more convinced I am that technology (Internet, mobile communication, dengdeng) are helping to perpetuate and sustain them. I was in China in the Spring of 1989 … the advanced technology then was the fax machine … wonder how it would have turned out if the same tech today was available back then. Recent and upcoming events in and around China my go far to explain.
