WSJ – World leaders struggle grain shortages

With the sufficient food supply in China, we don’t need to worry about the food problems, even during such inflation periods.
However, food price has risen sharply (83% in the past three years) in some African and Asian countries and threw them into turmoil. The government even deployed troops to safeguard the farmland (field) and grain store (warehouse).
Therefore, last weekend financial ministers talked about grain shortages, the problem that has troubled (plagued) the world since the remotest past (before the time of Pharaoh).

China has the largest number of executions in the world last year handing down death penalty to at least 470 prisoners, according to civil rights group Amnesty International.
Death penalty figures are kept as secret in China and the public never knew the exact number of the executed.
