China Tech Deal Signed With ZDNet Asia
Aggregated Source: BDL Media China BlogLast week we signed a deal with CNET Networks for their ZDNet Asia to use our full-text syndicated ChinaTechNews.com daily news. We should be sending out a release some time this week to make it official, but the deal is already signed and I think they are already using the content. We too will place some ZDNet Asia news on ChinaTechNews.com as part of a new "Asia Tech News" section, but they will be using much more than we are. Thanks to Amanda and others in our Beijing office for their continued good work.
This deal took about 2 years to do. I was asked to be a ZDNet Asia blogger a couple years ago, but ChinaTechNews.com was just signing an agreement with one of ZDNet Asia's rivals in Asia. So that meant I could neither blog nor do a deal with them. During that time though one of the guys in one of our invested China businesses did blog for ZDNet Asia and covered Linux news in China.
Fast forward two years: we now have a signed deal that will add more value to ChinaTechNews.com's coffers and also help to expand its own brand. ChinaTechNews.com has more than double as many registered database users than any of its rivals in the region and continues to grow as a great marketing platform for companies wishing to tap into the executives, investors, and tech buyers needing up-to-date China technology news.
By the way, ChinaTechNews.com currently also syndicates its news to about ten companies including Dow Jones, China.com, iResearch, and the Internet Society of China.
